Truth From An Atheist

I was listening to one of my favorite groups today, Set Your Goals, and they have a line in a song that says, "Life is about the process and not the result." As a Christian, I somewhat agree with that statement. Even though the group are a bunch of atheists, they speak some truth about the Christian life. I think a lot of times the church gets caught up in Heaven. Possibly, dare I say it, too caught up. It's almost as if our salvation is a one way ticket to Heaven, without doing anything while we're on earth.

I don't think our lifespans would be as long as they are for us to waste our time here and not accomplish anything for our Creator.

Christ, in everything He says, speaks of the Kingdom. This Kingdom is not some far off land, or an island floating in the sky, or a mystical area, the Kingdom starts here. It starts now. And it starts with everyone of us. This life is all about the process. Less about the result. Yes, the result is that we spend eternity with a God who is full of grace, mercy, and love, but we've got a job to do.

Will your process let you reap a harvest? Or come up empty handed?
